HOUSTON (AP) - The Houston Texans have signed sixth-round draft pick and former Minnesota Golden Gopher Dominique Barber.

Terms of the deal were not released Thursday.

Barber, the first Texans draft choice to sign this year, is the third in his family to join the NFL. His father, Marion Barber, Jr., played fullback for the New York Jets from 1982 to 1988 and his brother, Marion Barber III, is a Pro-Bowl running back for the Dallas Cowboys.

While playing safety in college, Dominique Barber racked up 191 tackles, four interceptions, 13 pass break-ups and four fumble recoveries. He was voted second team All-Big Ten by the league's coaches and media last season. Barber was the 173rd draft selection overall.
