MOBILE, Ala. -- Dallas Cowboys running back Marion Barber’s dislocated right pinkie toe has improved and he will be ready for off-season workouts, his agent Drew Rosenhaus said Wednesday.
Barber was limited by the toe injury late in the season. He dislocated the toe during the second quarter of the Cowboys’ 34-9 Thanksgiving Day win over Seattle. He didn’t play the following week against Pittsburgh. He had limited play the remainder of the season. Rookie Tashard Choice received the majority of the backfield work in Barber’s absence.
Despite the injury, Barber finished as the team leading rusher with 885 yards on 238 carries and seven touchdowns. Choice rushed for 472 yards and two touchdowns. Another rookie, Felix Jones, had 266 rushing yards and three touchdowns in the first six games before he was lost for the season with a hamstring injury.
